Timex thumbnail watch is 'baffling'

Timex wrist watches could be a thing of the past if the newest creation by a high-concept designer sees the light of day in future years, relegating the forearm to useless status when telling the time.

That is because Napoleon Merana, Steffen Schubert and David Takacs have produced a series of crazy ideas under the Timex 2154: The Future of Time moniker, showing different takes on how people will wear timepieces in future years, according to CrunchGear.

It showed that instead of the wrist, the Timex watch would instead go on the fingernail, providing a patented Indiglo display as well as a choice of colours, with a white nail-shaped control bar and mode changer to make it even more discreet.

CrunchGear described it as a great concept but worried that it would be a pain to implement.

It continued: "Do you have to take off your old fingernail? How do you change the battery? What about jet-pack travel? Will it interfere with your in-flight neural network connection? These things need to be taken into consideration."

Last month, Ben Pickel, a man who loves running enough to be part of a three-man challenge to run 1,000 miles in a year, told MLive.com that Timex wrist watches are fantastic companions to run with, particularly the Personal Trainer and Ironman models.ADNFCR-2637-ID-19617994-ADNFCR
