Timex opens new factory in India

The Timex Precision Engineering Limited (TGPEL) is to become a one-stop solution for mould design, manufacturing, part production and sub-assemblies for wrist watches after a new facility was built for the company.

Timex will work out of the world-class factory outside of Delhi, the Machinist of India revealed, with the working space inaugurated on December 28th by chief operating officer of the Timex Group Mr Kapil Kapoor.

Timex established its precision tool room and injection moulding facility in 1992 to support the wrist watch business in the area, which is believed to have one of the best growth rates for such items in the world.

M K Bandopadhyay, the director of TGPEL, said that 15 years of experience puts the Precision Engineering Division of Timex as one of the leading commercial tool rooms in the country.

He said: "We believe in continuous improvement and standardisation of production methods to maximise efficiency and the upgradation of our facility is in keeping with our renewed commitment to provide only the best to our esteemed clientele."

It comes soon after news that Timex wrist watches are targeting the Nepali market from its base in India over the coming months. ADNFCR-2637-ID-19545624-ADNFCR
