Seikos 'are the Lexus of wrist watches'


The Seiko brand of wrist watches has been compared to a luxury automobile by a journalist.

Writing for Luxist, Ariel Adams said that a Seiko watch is the "Lexus" of timepieces, referring to the famously upmarket car.

Adams acknowledged that a lot of beautiful goods seem to be limited to the Japanese market but noted that Seiko Ananta watches are available around the world.

The writer pointed out that many wrist watch lovers in America and Europe are frustrated by the fact that they cannot easily obtain the high-end Seiko products, but called it "good news" that the brand is now appearing outside of its native Japan.

Adams has also written about the benefits of another Seiko watch for AskMen.

The writer gave an account of the £640 Seiko Premier Direct Drive Moon Phase.

While it is costlier than people in the UK may wish a watch to be, Adams said that the "quality and features more than justify the expense".
