Seiko mark anniversary with high-end watch


In a bid to celebrate the fifth anniversary of a watch, Seiko has decided to create a luxurious version of it for high-end buyers.

However, only very lucky Japanese investors will be able to get hold of the Galante Spring Drive wrist watch, which targets the young yet fashion-conscious demographic of the island nation, Luxist revealed.

According to the magazine, timepieces offered under Seiko's Galante brand ensure more than just an image and instead are seen as the best of what Seiko offers - the "modern pinnacle" of mechanical watch production.

It continued: "These are extremely well-constructed and designed, hand assembled watches that include the very impressive (and accurate) Seiko Spring Drive mechanical hybrid movements."

To top the 44.5mm-wide watch face and Seiko 5R66 Spring Drive movement, the strap takes on more of a bracelet-style look to make it a piece of jewellery as much as a watch, Luxist added.
