Seiko Premier Kinetic Perpetual to be launches at Baselworld


Seiko watches are going from strength to strength on a global scale this month and the company will be celebrating this by launching its latest energy-saving offering, according to a new report.

Looking to the company's future, Retail Jeweller explained that the Premier Kinetic Perpetual watch - part of the prestige line-up of watches which the company offers - will debut at Baselworld in March, along with many other high-end offerings.

The kinetic technology is used to deliver the correct time, date and month, even taking into account leap years, all the way up to February 28, 2100, according to the publication.

Furthermore, the watch is powered by the wearer's motions and, following 24 hours of inactivity, the hands of the watch will stop moving but the watch will stay accurate time for up to four years, automatically resetting itself to the exact time when it is when worn again.

Managing director of Indian operations for Seiko Tetsuji Ishimaru recently revealed that double-digit growth between 20 to 30 per cent was achievable in 2010 for sales in the country.
