Nooka to promote wrist watches in Asia

Nooka watches will soon be showcased in Asian nations such as Japan, South Korea and the Philippines.

Matthew Waldman, creator of the Nooka line of products, is planning to head to the continent to raise the profile of the brand.

Two separate stints in Tokyo have been scheduled, along with visits to places such as Seoul, Manila, Singapore and Taipei.

Writing on his blog, Mr Waldman noted that he also hopes to squeeze in a trip to Beijing, the Chinese city which hosted the Olympic Games last year.

"I love meeting new people and am very excited to visit some cities for the first time," he commented.

Mr Waldman added that he is hoping to track down some celebrities or press organisations that may be willing to promote the Nooka brand in these destinations.

Meanwhile, Mr Waldman has spotted fashion designer Tina Roth Eisenberg sporting a Nooka watch on her wrist.

He revealed that he used to know her many years ago, before she became a "design star" in New York.
