Luminox throws pride behind bobsledders


A major producer of wrist watches is throwing more weight behind one of its highest-profile sponsorship deals in time for the Winter Olympics in Vancouver this year.

The US Bobsled and Skeleton Team is sponsored by the Luminox Watch Company and is well on the way to achieving a top-three victory in the icier incarnation of the Games, JCK Online reported the company as saying.

Bobsled and skeleton daredevils on the team have been covered by the company since 2008 when the announced its partnership, with the agreement set to go on until May 2011 and encompassing the high-profile and well-anticipated 2010 Winter Olympic Games in the Canadian city next month.

Since the deal was signed, Luminox revealed that the team has had an "outstanding success", particularly during its 2009/2010 World Cup tour, with the boys and girls claimed no less than 13 medals to date, five of which have been gold.

Luminox has a number of high-profile deals with military units around the world, including the US Navy Seals.
