Christmas is 'record breaker' for Welsh shopping outlet


Over five million customers have ensured that St David's shopping centre in Cardiff had a record-breaking Christmas, the director of the centre has recently revealed.

Steven Madeley spoke to the South Wales Echo about the success of the extended mall, where shopper numbers jumped by 71 per cent and the amount spent rose by a further 60 per cent in like-for-like sales in December compared to the previous year.

The shopping centre will likely impress fans of Lambretta wrist watches in the near future, given the centre is to open a store in the coming months in St David's.

Mr Madeley happily told the newspaper: "Before the launch of St David's we had high expectations of what we hoped it would achieve, not only for the shopping centre, but for Cardiff as a destination and the results so far have been outstanding."

Lambretta makes its wares under licence from the brand's owner, as the original company closed down in 1972 after years of producing scooters for the Italian market.ADNFCR-2637-ID-19552507-ADNFCR
