Expert: Don't let emotions rule over value with wrist watches


A major newspaper has warned people that by letting emotions get ahead of them, they could end up spending more than they bargained for on a wrist watch they may not like as much as something else.

The Guardian said that it pays to be savvy when buying such treats, especially in view of Valentine's Day, when a person's feelings may interrupt an otherwise flawless purchase of a timepiece.

It highlighted how a ladies' stone-set DKNY bracelet watch can cost between £89 and £115 following a brief look on the internet, signalling a huge 30 per cent difference, adding that both bespoke and branded jewellery and wrist watches alike can vary hugely in price.

"If you are planning to spend a significant sum of money, it is worth reading a buyer's guide," the newspaper added.

This month, Newmont Mining Corporation president Richard O'Brien predicted that gold prices would rise more - highlighting how gold wrist watches could cost a lot more soon.
