Most women 'own a wrist watch'


The wrist watch has become a fashion accessory for the majority of women, according to a writer.

In an article for Best Syndication, Tom Lopez said that "almost every woman in the world owns a wrist watch these days" and also stated that many have several.

He pointed out that ladies' watches can be used as fashion accessories and not just as functional timepieces.

They can be considered a piece of jewellery and have often been marketed that way by designers.

Women could even have different watches for various occasions.

Mr Lopez also noted that a wrist watch is a good gift for a woman for an occasion such as a birthday, anniversary or Valentine's Day present.

Elle magazine also considers wrist watches to be fashion accessories, having recently outlined a number of stylish timepieces to suit the season's trends.

These include designs from Burberry, Michael Kors, Swatch and Marc Jacobs.
