Issey Miyake unveils autumn/winter range for 2010

Japanese label Issey Miyake has displayed its autumn/winter 2010-2011 collection at Paris Fashion Week, showing its coffee-inspired style for the style fan's future wardrobe.

Dai Fujiwara drew inspiration from Japan's coffee shops and the likes of their gingham tablecloths and the casual clothing rocked by baristas in the Tokyo scene.

Speaking to the Associated Press in a pre-show interview, Fujiwara said: "After the crisis, I thought people needed a rest, a coffee break.

Commenting on the more relaxed nature of his new range, he continued: "You go down to the coffee shop in comfy clothes, with a newspaper."

This was reflected with the models, who largely wore slouchy sweaters and other indoor wear, with one even showing a rolled-up newspaper hanging out of the pocket.

Before Christmas, the Daily Mail revealed that Elton John held an auction for a wide range of his clothes, including a vast number of Issey Miyake pieces, with a stall being set up in Covent Garden. ADNFCR-2637-ID-19578630-ADNFCR
