Issey Miyake on display in capital

Wrist watch fans may want to head down to one of the capital's premier art galleries in the next few weeks, as one of the top designers in the sector is demonstrating other wares as part of a new exhibition.

The Guardian revealed that the newest practical design exhibition is on at the Serpentine Gallery and hopes to impress countless people with the "beauty and pragmatism of everyday design".

And among the contributors to the exhibition is Issey Miyake, the firm behind an extensive range of functional yet stylish wrist watches which are developed by creative minds from all around the world.

The most interesting inventions of the last ten years will be on display at the institute and will run until February 7th 2010, so Issey Miyake lovers are encouraged to spend a day during January checking the space out.

This week, it was revealed that Issey Miyake scarves and other items featured heavily in a charity auction by Elton John, with Harry Mount of the Daily Mail visiting the stall in Covent Garden to get a feel for the artist's clothing.
