New camera harnesses power of G-Shock watches

G-Shock watch technology is not limited to just timepieces at Casio, it has been proved.

That's because the Japanese digital electronics organisation has created the EXILIM EX-G1 digital camera with the same abilities, delivering shock resistance through a durable chassis which prevents major damage to internal workings which other cameras may be unable to take.

It is this technology which "offers an endurance level that will withstand the demands of your daily routine", according to senior general manager of Casio's Digital Imaging Division Toshi Iguchi.

He added: "The EX-G1, Casio's toughest camera to date, is a prime example of Casio's constant devotion to creating cameras to accommodate all levels of photographers."

At a miniscule 0.78 inches thick, the EX-G1 can still deliver 12.1 megapixel quality and a 2.5-inch LCD screen, as well as multi-image capturing and various modes of shooting.

The EX-G1 is perhaps not as famous as Casio's EX-F1, which can shoot videos of up to 1,200 frames per second, allowing for super-slow playback.
