G-Shock wrist watch expert hails Mister Cartoon collaboration

Casio's stance on G-Shock watches is that they respond to the creative input of the collaboration or function they are associated with, according to one of the company's leading executives.

Tadashi Shibuya, assistant general manager of the G-Shock watch brand, said to AllHipHop that the meaning of the timepieces is all that is important, especially when it represents a link between Casio and different artists, musicians, designers and athletes.

Mister Cartoon was Mr Shibuya's favourite partner for watch making, explaining that the tattoo artist in question was a wonderful person to epitomise the brand.

He explained: "At a time when G-Shock was increasing in popularity, particularly in street fashion, I wanted to feature another face of G-Shock that was street culture, and Mister Cartoon was the epitome of that."

Mister Cartoon has had his artwork featured in a number of places and with plenty of companies, including Toyota, Nike, T-Mobile and the game franchise Grand Theft Auto.
