Casio to unveil new G-Shock watches


New G-Shock watches are to be released by wrist watch manufacturer Casio later this month.

This range of products has been designed to perform in extreme conditions such as low temperatures, strong vibrations and heavy impacts.

Casio is updating the G-Shock series in order to make sure the brand remains fresh and at the cutting edge of wrist watch design.

"Since its introduction in 1983, the G-Shock brand has enjoyed constant popularity," the company noted.

This was attributed partly to its shock-resistant design, as well as its distinctive shape that "exudes style as well as functionality".

Among the new wrist watches is the G-Rescue G7900, which has large buttons to make it suitable for people who are wearing gloves.

Consumers can buy either a white timepiece, or opt for a black or red version instead.

G-Shock watches were recently flagged up as ideal items for fans out of the outdoors by Ariel Adams of the Examiner, who said it would not freeze up in cold wintry weather.
