Casio watches now endorsed by F1 star Sebastian Vettel

There was a changing of the guard for Casio watches at last weekend's Belgian Grand Prix, as Sebastian Vettel became its new brand ambassador.

Scotland's David Coulthard has been the face of Casio's Edifice brand in recent years, but has surrendered that role now that he has retired from driving to take his place in the BBC team covering Formula 1.

Not content with replacing Coulthard as a driver for the Red Bull Racing team, Vettel has also stepped into his role promoting wrist watches.

To mark the occasion, a new limited edition Casio watch, the Edifice EQW-M1000SV-1AER, is to be released.

The German driver said: "Time is very important for me, but to be honest, the best thing about this watch is the alarm clock, as I get in trouble if I'm late for work."

Vettel was less impressed with his performance in the race, as he came home in third place and missed out on the chance to put a real dent in Jenson Button's lead at the top of the drivers' championship following the Briton's first-lap crash. ADNFCR-2637-ID-19341777-ADNFCR
