Alessi to launch new laser watch


Timepiece fans who are tired of the traditional method of reading the time on the face of their wrist watch will no doubt welcome news that a new innovative design has emerged.

The new Alessi watch, which was designed by Andy Kurovets, consists of a simple curve band that hangs on the wrist and most notably, a laser which projects the time onto the owner's arm.

While the idea of pressing a cleverly concealed button on the strap to project the time onto skin is simple enough, one review has described it as impractical.

Ruth at Gaj It commented: "What happens if you've got really dark skin or hairy arms - would it still work? And the angle looks like it'd be a pain to read."

Meanwhile, people looking to get their hands on one of the most durable watches in the market will be pleased to hear about the launch of Casio's new G-Shock line, which has been designed to withstand low temperatures, heavy impacts and strong vibrations.
