Baby G watches looking for a new star


Casio has revealed it is looking for a new face for its Baby G watch brand.

However, it is not trying to attract an A-list celebrity for its advertising campaign. Instead the new face of the ladies' watches range will be an unknown model.

Casio is staging a modelling contest designed to identify a suitable model to feature in its 2010 spring/summer Baby G watch collection adverts.

Aspiring models aged between 18 and 29 will be able to upload two pictures of themselves to the Baby G website from September 17th 2009.

Website users will then be able to vote for their favourites until November 29th 2009, with the most popular entrants going on to be assessed by a panel of experts.

The winner will be selected in December and flown to Hamburg to take part in a professional photo shoot for the new Baby G watch campaign.

With their stylish and colourful appearance, Baby G watches have developed a big fans base in recent years. Television star Amanda Byram, presenter of BBC1's Total Wipeout, recently told the Independent she often wears one.ADNFCR-2637-ID-19346306-ADNFCR
